Alun - Team Leader (Chairman/DO)
Having completed his PADI Junior Open Water diver qualification in 1997 at age 12, Alun has since become a PADI Divemaster and BSAC First Class Diver and Advanced Instructor. He has dived and contributed to many clubs and centres across the UK and abroad. As the team leader he holds the position of BSAC Branch Chairman and Diving Officer and leads the team in all its diving activities.
Andy - Assistant Team Leader (Expeditions/Sub-Diving Officer)
Andy has been an outdoor pursuits instructor for 20 years and is passionate about a range of water sports, he currently holds the position of kayaking technical advisor for the special olympics. Having recently begun his diving adventures Andy is keen to progress in diving to apply his outstanding experience, understanding and leadership skills gained from other fields. Andy is always on hand for advice on anything.
Caron - Team Secretary
Caron is keen to develop new skills and experiences to further progress as a diver. As both a diligent and enthusiastic team member, Caron exceeds her responsibilities of administration and communication within her role as secretary, proving an invaluable resource to the team, public and other agencies/organisations. Preferring quieter diving, with fewer numbers, Caron is always keen to support club activities and she is often on hand at the surface to help out her fellow divers wherever and however possible.
Helen - Team Treasurer
Qualifying as a diver a number of years ago, Helen diligently contributes and advises the club on matters of finance and funding. Since recently renewing her diver qualifications, and with a passion for diving activities, Helen has proved to be a massive asset in securing a bright and prosperous future for the club, its members and new trainees. Helen is regularly involved in recruitment and development of new trainee divers.
Jack - Team Member
Jack is very keen and enthusiastic to develop and gain knowedge of lots of different aspects of diving, gaining experience from both formal training and learning from others in the team. Fascinated by Marine Biology (and never afraid of fish), he is a conscientious diver and leader who continually seeks out new opportunities to dive. As the Sub DO & Expo Officer, Jack's role within the team is to assist in logistical management and implementation of diving activities.
Corinne - Team Member
Beginning her diver training in 2008, Corinne thrives on diving in warmer waters. Her experiences have taken her to dive sites across the world including the Mediterranean sea and Australia's great barrier reef; while she endures UK diving, her passion lies in holidays, overseas expeditions and all-things SCUBA travel related. She has joined DT2 as her first UK dive club and looks forward to contributing and sharing her experiences with the club both through UK diving activities and those overseas.
Gareth - Team Member
For the last ten years Gareth has been a keen Kayaker. As a result of his volunteering for the Special Olympics, he has developed interests in gorge walking, coasteering and climbing. A self confessed 'thrill seeker', Gareth took up SCUBA diving with a view to developing and progressing to a point where his skills would allow him to introduce and lead others in a range of environments and experiences. Gareth is always keen to meet new people and make new friends along the way.
Jacob - Team Member
Jacob, a current YGDT student, qualified as a diver over a year ago. With a passion and enthusiasm for diving, Jacob acts as an ambassador for the sport; his friendly and mature approach is invaluable to the training and development of YGDT students within the club.
Rosetta - Team Member
Keen to promote the safety and enjoyment of others, Rosetta is always looking for new opportunities to dive and socialise with new friends who are just as enthusiastic about the sport as she is. Rosetta is progressing towards developing skills, confidence and experience in her diving with the team. In addition to a keen interest in Marine Biology and a desire to dive further afield in the Maldives, Rosetta also enjoys travelling, walking and cooking some beautiful meals - usually with an offer for the whole team to come over and eat!
Meryn - Team Member
A previous YGDT student, Meryn now studies at Swansea University. With a passion for watersports and Marine Biology, Meryn is both skilled and knowledgeable in diving, seamanship and allied disciplines. Always keen to help out, Meryn still works closely with the club supporting both ongoing diving activities and the induction and introduction of new divers.
Tarn - Team Member
Tarn is a current YGDT student with a great attitude and enthusiasm for diving activities. A competent diver and boat handler, Tarn is capable of supporting diving activities while developing and expanding his own personal diving and seamanship skills.
